Val Arkoosh Calls Again For Passage of Women’s Health Protection Act After SCOTUS Fails To Block Texas Abortion Law

NORRISTOWN — Dr. Val Arkoosh, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners and candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement after the Supreme Court failed again to block Texas’ six-week abortion ban.

“The Supreme Court essentially just upheld forced pregnancy in its failure to block Texas’ abortion ban, which bans abortion before many even know they are pregnant. Every single day this extreme, dangerous law stands is another day pregnant people cannot get the health care they need. We are in the middle of an all-out assault on abortion rights and if the Supreme Court next strikes down Roe v. Wade the consequences will be horrific. As a physician, I am not being hyperbolic when I say people will die. We need to codify Roe right now.”

Val is a physician of more than two decades who spent the majority of her career on the labor and delivery floor, where she sat with patients making difficult decisions about their pregnancies. She has continued to raise this issue repeatedly on the campaign, lifting up stories of Pennsylvanians impacted by abortion and health care providers who understand the importance of defending Roe v. Wade.
